Dr Wilson Arikpo is a licensed Safety Professional, Safety Ambassador, Marine Engineer and Certified Management Trainer.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Shipping; a Fellow of the West African Society for Communication and Administration; Fellow of the Guild of Marine Surveyors; Professional Fellow of the Emergency, Crisis & Risk Management Institute; an International Register of Certified Auditors (IRCA) certified Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems (OHSAS 18001) Lead Auditor; Insurance Claims Mgt. a Special Marshall of the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC); a Trustee of the Guild of Marine Surveyors; a Consultant; an Entrepreneur; Motivational & Conference Speaker and above all an ordained Minister of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
He has served in various senior positions and is presently the Chief Executive Officer of Seagate Global Services Limited.
As a Clergyman, Rev. Wilson Arikpo is Pastor at the Proceeding Word of God Church (PWGC); Int’l President of the Berean Believers Fellowship Int’l (BBFI); Chapter SSO/IGR Director of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) and a Governing Board Member of the ACTS of Christ Theological Seminary.
He has served as a Committee (Executive) Member of the Nigeria Branch of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST), and contributed immensely to the growth and sustenance of IMarEST in Nigeria. He was Chairman, Planning Committee for the visit of the President of the Institute from the United Kingdom (UK) in 2002, a visit internationally reported as successful. He represented the Institute as a Member of the National Task Force on Ballast Water Management in Nigeria. He is also an Executive Member of the Society of Nigerian Mariners (SNM).
Dr Wilson Arikpo served as a National Executive Council (NEC) Member of the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON), in the capacity of ex-officio and National Public Relations Officer Nat’l PRO). He is a facilitator on Health Safety & Environment Management System (HSE–MS), Personal Water Survival & Rescue; Maritime, Oil & Gas Safety among others. At the Lagos State Branch of ISPON, he served as Interim/Transitional Branch Secretary; Secretary, Coordinator and Chairman respectively of different Membership Induction Committees.
He also lectures on IMO certified STCW 95 (Mandatory) courses of Personal Safety and Social Responsibility (PSSR) and Personal Survival Techniques (PST).
He supervised the movement of two flow stations for SPDC; refloating of a sunken NLNG boat at Bonny Island amongst others; and most recently, refit of a fire ravaged DP2 vessel in South Africa for major insurance companies.
His academic background covers a range from Marine Engineering; Transport Management; Shipping; Occupational Health Safety & Environment Mgt. to Business Administration and Theology.
He has presented several papers & named as a facilitator at various workshops organized in the Engineering, Oil & Gas, safety, Maritime and Insurance industry. He has also attended several courses, technical meetings, seminars and workshops on Safety, Engineering, insurance and the maritime field.
