Egbin Power Plc, Nigeria’s largest power generating plant, recently marked 3 million man-hour work with zero loss time injury, Safety Record can authoritatively report.
The company’s Community and Media Relations Officer, Stella Olugbemi, disclosed this during the Egbin Power’s safety week celebration.
She explained that the event serves to appreciate the company’s hardworking staff as well as persons actively involved in reporting safety incidents in the year in review.
A guest and safety expert, Mr Dapo Omolade, lauded the power company for what he described as a “good safety culture”.
Omolade, who is the CEO of Hybrid Group and National Coordinator of Safety Advocate and Empowerment Foundation (SAEF), asserted that so long as safety is concerned, other companies should follow in the footsteps of Egbin Power.
In the same vein, another safety expert, Engr. Jamiu Badmus explained that Egbin Power’s zeal to constantly uphold safety has boosted the company’s activities.
A former employee of the company, Obafemi Abidoye, urged the company not to relax on its safety goals, calling instead for an intensified effort in the area in order to avoid any incident.
