Lightning strikes have killed at least 27 people in different areas in the Southern Sindh province of Pakistan on Friday.
The provincial government spokesman, Saeed Ghani, confirmed the incident while stating that a state of emergency has been declared in the province following the incident.
He stated that dozens of persons, women, and children inclusive, have been rushed to nearby hospitals.
He explained that the rains caused structures to fall and the resultant lightning led to the fatalities and injuries.
Ghani informed that rescuers had been dispatched to the Thar Desert in the province of Sindh.
In the same vein, the spokesperson for Edhi charity, Anwar Kazimi, warned that the figure of deaths could potentially increase.
