The Ogun Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has cautioned road users against frequently travelling at night this festive period.

According to Mr Clement Oladele, the FRSC Sector Commander in Ogun, the call was made in a bid check the rate of road traffic crashes.

He noted that it was easier to clearly see things on the road when travelling during the day as opposed to night time.

Oladele also pointed out the rise in criminal activities during the ember months, saying that “these criminals” perpetrate evil under the cover of darkness.

The sector commander also spoke on the two road crashes that occurred on Saturday, on Sagamu-Ijebu Ode-Benin Expressway.

While regretting the crash in which nine lives were lost and 12 persons injured, he called on motorists to apply restraints while on the road.

Oladele also urged Nigerians to call the toll free lines, 122 or 112 in case of any emergency.
