The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) has confirmed the death of three persons in a road crash involving a Toyota Sienna and a Mack tipper on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The spokesman of the corps, Mr. Babatunde Akinbiyi, said that 12 persons, including 10 adults and two children, were involved in the Monday accident that occurred at Onigaari community on the busy expressway.
He disclosed that the driver of the Sienna vehicle with registration number MUS 932 FE rammed into the stationary tipper due to speeding and recklessness.
Akinbiyi said, “I learnt the Sienna is a commercial vehicle loaded from Ibadan to Lagos when it suddenly lost control due to speeding and reckless driving and rammed into the stationary tipper parked by the roadside.”
The corps spokesman further disclosed that while injured victims were rushed to the Victory Hospital, Ogere, the remains of the deceased were deposited at FOS Mortuary, Ipara-Remo.
Akinbiyi condoled with families of the deceased and warned motorists against speeding especially during the rainy season.
He also enjoined truck drivers against parking along the highways to forestall similar incidents.
