The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has confirmed that 12 persons were injured when a building collapsed in the Fagba area of Lagos state.
Chief Executive Officer of LASEMA, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, told newsmen that the three-storey building caved in the night of Wednesday, June 26.
He said that no fatalities were recorded in the incident although 12 persons sustained varying degrees of injuries.
Oke-Osanyintolu said, “This is just to inform you that a three story building collapsed at K Farm, Fagba, Off Iju Road.
“It was a building under construction, and people occupying the building have been evacuated and the injured are responding to treatment.
“No mortalities recorded. All the key stakeholders that are important in managing disaster in Lagos are on ground.
“However the building will be pulled to ground zero for safety of the people living in the area.
“All the buildings adjacent or beside the collapsed building will be subjected to solid material testing, for your information.”

Safety Record recalls that eight persons were injured when a one-storey building collapsed in the Oshodi area of Lagos on June 23.
Also, another storey building under construction in the Magodo area of the state collapsed, injuring three persons on June 13.
