The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Kano State Fire Service, Alhaji Saidu Mohammed, said the service treated 31 distress calls in the last two weeks.
He disclosed on Tuesday that the calls were from different parts of the state.
According to the PRO, the calls were for fire disasters, collapsed building, road crashes and rescue.
Mohammed said that 24 calls were received for fire incidents, six for rescue and one false alarm.
He cautioned residents of the state against complacency when using electrical appliances.

Furthermore, he advised residents to refrain from storing petrol and other combustible substances at home or shops to avoid fire disasters.
