Three people on Wednesday morning lost their lives in a fatal auto crash in Ondo State.
The crash occurred around Olokuta axis of the Ondo – Akure highway which is few minutes’ drives from the Akure, the Ondo State capital.
The accident involved a black Toyota Corolla Sports car with number plate FGB 940 AA and a blue truck with number plate LND 274 XP.
According to an eyewitness, the accident was caused by over speeding by the driver of the Toyota Corolla who while on top speed tried to overtake another vehicle before colliding with a truck coming from the opposite direction.
It was also gathered that the accident could have been caused by poor visibility which was due to the early morning fog on the busy road.
The victims involved were occupants of the Toyota Corolla which included a man, a woman as well as a boy suspected to be of the same family.
Meanwhile, the whereabouts of the truck driver is unknown as he reportedly took to his heels immediately after the crash.
Officials of the Federal Road safety corps who arrived the scene of the incident took control of the traffic that has built up on the road as a result of the accident.
Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Spokesperson, Ondo State Sector, Antonia Adekemi, told newsmen that efforts were on to ensure that the road is clear.
She, however, promised to get back to our correspondent as soon as the situation is fully brought under control.
