Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, recently described the existence of the Federal Road Safety Corps as a preventive medicine for road crashes that is required by all.
He also reiterated the call for the establishment of Road Safety Clubs in schools across the country.
Soyinka, the pioneer Corps Marshal at the inception of the organisation, spoke in Abeokuta at a rally organised by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
He described the FRSC as a preventive medicine against road accidents, saying the formation of the clubs should remain independent of the police.
Commenting on members’ attitude on roads, state Secretary of the NURTW, Sunday Yeye, said that the union usually disciplines erring members reported to the secretariat on inappropriate dispositions.
