Reports, on Friday, indicate that there was a fire outbreak in one of the committee conference rooms in the National Assembly Complex, Abuja.

The fire reportedly broke out in Room 322 in the New Building wing of the House of Representatives section.

Safety Record gathered that there were no casualties as lawmakers, workers, and guests had already evacuated the premises before the fire outbreak.

It was further gathered that the fire was put out by security officials assigned to the house.

When contacted, the Divisional Police Officer, National Assembly Division of the Nigeria Police, DSP Abdullahi Sambo, pointed out that he was on leave and therefore unaware of the fire incident.

There is still no official confirmation of the cause of the fire.
