Twenty-three persons were confirmed dead on Wednesday after a nightclub in eastern Mexico was set ablaze.
Authorities say 10 persons were left seriously injured by the fire incident that started in a bar in Coatzacoalcos, in the eastern state of Veracruz.
The office of the state Attorney General confirmed the incident while addressing the media.
Of the 23 persons confirmed dead, eight were identified as women while 15 were men.
The injured victims, authorities say, are being treated in the hospital for various degrees of burns.
Investigations into the cause of the fire are still ongoing, authorities have said.
