One person has been confirmed dead on Thursday in an accident on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

The Ogun State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed this to newsmen in Abeokuta.

The command said two males and one female were involved in the road crash.

Mr Clement Oladele, the Ogun State Sector Commander of the FRSC, confirmed that the accident which occurred around Redemption Camp main gate at Mowe involved a Volkswagen car with registration number EGB 608 XA and a bus with registration number LSD 933 XQ.

According to him, the accident was caused by over speeding.

“The corpse of the victim has been deposited at the mortuary of Fakoya Hospital in Sagamu, Ogun State, while the two others sustained no injuries,’’ Oladele said.

The sector commander, in the wake of the accident, cautioned motorists against over speeding.

He also said that the road had been cleared following the accident and that there was presently a free flow of traffic.
