In the aftermath of the fire incident that rocked Radio Bayelsa ‘Glory FM 97.1’ in Yenagoa, the broadcast station has announced the resumption of activities as of Saturday.
This was disclosed to newsmen in Yenagoa on Monday by its General Manager, Dr John Idumange.
Idumange blamed some members of the station’s staff for the fire incident, while investigations are still inconclusive.
The Bayelsa State Commissioner for Information, Mr Daniel Iworiso-Markson, while speaking on the station’s return to airwaves, said that portions of the studio that was razed by fire would be rebuilt by the state government.
He said for the time being, a temporary studio was set up so regular broadcast activities could resume fully.
Iworiso-Markson revealed that investigation into the root of the fire was still ongoing, stressing that the state government had already assembled a panel to that effect.
