The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has reiterated its stance that human factor was responsible for most of the accidents on the roads.

Speaking on Tuesday in Ota, the Ogun State Sector Commandant of FRSC, Clement Oladele said seven fatalities were recorded, with 36 injured in 21 road crashes during the recent Eld-el-Fitri celebration.

Also, the sector commander praised the timely response of FRSC personnel in rescuing 47 victims during the celebrations, adding that many of the crashes could have been avoided if only motorists were more safety conscious.

Oladele, “I want to reiterate FRSC’s commitment to sensitive the motorists on the importance of safety,  so that crashes could be reduced to the barest minimum.”

He urged caution on the part of motorists while plying the road, advising against overspeeding.
