A fire outbreak gutted 6 shops at the Kofar Ruwa Market in Kano state on Sunday.

The Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Fire Service, Malam Saidu Mohammed, disclosed this to newsmen on Monday.

While revealing that the Fire Service was notified of the incident by a certain Usman Danladi, he said that the source of the fire outbreak was still unknown.

”On receiving the information, we quickly sent some of our personnel and fire fighting vehicle to the scene of the incident at about 10:15 pm to stop the fire from spreading to other shops,” he said.

Although no life was lost, many properties were lost in the incident.

Mohammed urged caution on the part of traders and advised them to always have in place safety equipment like fire extinguishers and fire buckets in case of emergencies.
