Five persons were left injured when two tankers collided on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Wednesday.

The road crash resulted in a fire outbreak that consumed a number of cars, trucks and other vehicles plying the road.

Fire fighters from the Federal Fire Service  responded to quench the fire while men of the Nigeria Police Force were also on ground at the scene of the accident.

It will be recalled that there was an earlier limited closure of the expressway due to rehabilitation, with the Federal Road Safety Corps issuing a safety warning to motorists plying the road.
