The Coordinator of the National Agency for Food & Drug Administration & Control (NAFDAC) in Borno, Mr Nasiru Mato, has urged residents of Borno state to look closely for the NAFDAC number, labeling and logos before any purchasing product.

He said this at a sensitisation campaign with the theme ‘Keeping the Environment Litter Free’ held in Maiduguri on Sunday, May 5.

Mato said, “NAFDAC advises consumers of regulated products to comply with all labeling instructions to ensure good health, safety, and protection of the environment.

“Man is indeed his environment and his environment is man, man therefore, influences his environment due to both his action and inaction.’

He said that these safety measures will ensure that consumers do not consume substandard food products.

In the same vein, the coordinator admonished consumers to properly dispose their waste in order to ensure a healthy environment for all.
