There were multiple accidents on Friday at Umuokpu on the old Onitsha-Enugu Expressway as four vehicles crashed.

The four vehicles involved in the crash were: a tipper with registration number GDD 110 ZN; a Mercedes Benz with registration number NSH 620 PH; a Mitsubishi L300 bus with CH 259 KTU; and a Golf with registration number 0AJ 122 ZAR.

The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) in Anambra, Mr Andrew Kumapayi, confirmed the accident while speaking to newsmen in Awka, the state capital.

According to him, the tipper had a brake failure which led to the accidents.

A total of four people were involved in the crash (three male and one female) which left two people injured (a male and a female).

The injured were subsequently rushed to the General Hospital, Enugu Ukwu, for treatment.
