The General Manager, Osun Ambulance Services Agency, Dr. Olusegun Babatunde, has appealed to transport stakeholders to cooperate with the agency to increase survival chances of patients.
He made the appeal at the maiden edition of the agency’s “Sensitisation/Advocacy on Road Safety” with transport stakeholders in the state capital, Osogbo on Wednesday.
Present at the event were leaders of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Road Transport Employees Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) and Association of Commercial Motorcycle Riders of Nigeria (ACOMORAN).
Babatunde said that the agency has put measures in place to decrease its response time to emergency calls to five minutes.
However, he said that this could not be achieved if transport stakeholders do not alert the agency to emergencies and give the right of way to ambulances.
The GM said that cooperation between the agency and the stakeholders was for the good of the state.
Responding, the leaders applauded the efforts of the Gboyega Oyetola-led Osun State Government in emergency rescue operations while promising to work hand in hand with the agency to enable it achieve its aims.
