The Oyo State House of Assembly cautioned officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) against needless chasing of traffic offenders in the state.
The Speaker of the House, Hon. Olagunju Ojo, advised the FRSC to take down the plate numbers of the drivers who violate traffic rules and regulations rather than causing accidents while attempting to pursue these offenders.
The advice came on the heels of Saturday’s road crash involving FRSC personnel and a commercial vehicle in the state’s capital, Ibadan.
While presiding over the House’s plenary session on Tuesday, April 16, the Speaker raised a motion for the FRSC to go about their arrests with utmost civility and in line with all safety requirements.
He also urged the FRSC to thoroughly look into the recent accident and arrest any erring personnel.
