The Director of Fire Service Department, Kebbi State, Alhaji Bello Zagga, says that the department has recorded 46 fire incidents and lost seven lives in the state between January till date.

“Most of the fire incidents we have recorded were as a result of electrical appliances, electricity up-surge or improper use of inflammable items,’’ Zagga said in a chat with newsmen.

The fire boss lamented the poor state of fire equipment in the state.

According to him, “The fire department is only managing three old trucks out of nine trucks, with the remaining six grounded.’’

Zagga advised residents to be careful when using home electrical appliances.

He also said that residents should beware of inflammable items and dispose them off properly.
