Factional Chairman of the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON), Lagos State Chapter, Engr. Timothy Iwuagwu, has explained his decision to seek public office in his home state of Imo.
Iwuagwu, who is contesting for the Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency seat under the platform of the Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party (ANRP), made this known in a chat with Safety Record newspaper on Tuesday, January 29.
According to him, the need to bring succour to the people of the federal constituency compelled him to listen to their yearnings to contest.
He noted that the community had suffered considerable due to inconsistent government policy, a trend he vowed to reverse if elected on March 2.
Iwuagwu said, “My state particularly has been left behind because of the inconsistency in government policy.
“It has affected my community so much that they are crying out, and I think I am in a position to intervene in a merciful manner, not through violence.
“And the only way to do it is through the democratic process.”
